In 2025, something deeply troubling happened in the San Ysidro School District—yet no one in local Republican leadership said a word.
A teacher at San Ysidro began allowing and encouraging students and teachers to sit or abstain from standing for the Pledge of Allegiance. A moment meant to unite young Americans in gratitude and shared values was being eroded, not by protest, but by policy.
We contacted the San Diego County GOP leadership directly, urging them to attend a San Ysidro School Board meeting. There, they were asked to stand with the sole Republican defending the Pledge of Allegiance, alongside parents, and speak up for what used to be considered fundamental American values.
The response?
Deafening silence.
No statements.
No presence.
No leadership.
This moment was the last straw. And it confirmed what many of us already feared: When it comes to protecting our children, parental rights, and our national identity, the local Republican Party County GOP leadership has gone AWOL.
The Movement Begins: Educators, Not Politicians
That failure is what sparked the creation of two grassroots platforms:
www.department.education: A movement led by concerned educators to create a new, independent Department of Education focused entirely on school choice, charter schools, and parental rights—free from government unions and bureaucratic agendas.
www.sandiegorepublican.com: A bold new voice in San Diego politics, launched to fill the void left by silent GOP leadership, and to become an advocate for the most vulnerable group in our society: children too young to vote, too young to organize, but not too young to be politicized.
We are not here to play nice with broken systems. We are here to build a new one—one that speaks for parents, students, and every Republican voter who’s sick of the excuses.
The 30% Proposal: A Necessary Wake-Up Call
The 30% Proposal was born out of that very frustration. It’s a line in the sand.
If less than 30% of registered Republicans in a county vote in any qualifying election, the County GOP Chair must resign. Period.
We’re no longer tolerating leadership that fails to lead.
What is a “qualifying election”?
Any race in which elected officials must take an oath of office:
Presidential, Senate, House
Governor, Attorney General, and other state offices
State Legislature
County Supervisors, Mayors, City Council
School Boards and Special Districts
If the final certified count shows Republican turnout under 30%, the Chair must resign within 14 days. A special election must follow within 60 days, and new candidates must present a real plan to increase voter turnout—especially around urgent issues like education.
We cannot allow another San Ysidro moment to go ignored. If GOP leadership refuses to fight for our kids, we will replace them with people who will.
San Diego Republican: A Voice for the Voiceless
Many people affected by these cultural and educational battles are unable to vote. They’re in classrooms, not polling booths. They don’t have donors, unions, or lobbyists. They only have us—parents, teachers, and community leaders who refuse to be silent.
San Diego Republican exists to give them a voice.
We’re not waiting on the state party.
We’re not begging consultants to notice us.
We’re building a movement from the ground up—with results, standards, and integrity.
We Invite You to Join Us
If you’ve ever wondered why our schools feel more political than patriotic—why no one in power seems to care—it’s because they’ve chosen comfort over courage.
We haven’t. We’re educators. We’re parents. We’re Republicans. And we’re not going anywhere.

Together, we’ll stand for the Pledge.
Together, we’ll stand for school choice.
And together, we’ll demand leadership that stands with us.
And that’s why we’re asking you to take a stand. You don’t need permission to ask hard questions. You don’t need a title to demand answers.
That’s why we created the 30% Proposal—to force accountability from party leaders who have become too comfortable with failure.
That’s why we launched San Diego Republican—to give a voice to the kids who can’t vote, but who are being used as pawns in political games.
You don’t need permission to ask hard questions. You don’t need a title to demand answers.
Call your County GOP Chair today.
Email the California Republican Party in Sacramento.
Ask them two simple questions:
Why is this being allowed to happen in our schools?
What are you doing to stop this in our county?
If they don’t have an answer, they shouldn’t have the job.
The time for waiting is over. If we want leaders who will fight for our children, we must demand it now—or replace those who refuse.
