Back in 2011, I was a grad student, hungry to carve out a name for myself in the history game. I landed an internship at the William S. Hart Museum, and they handed me a real head-scratcher: dig into the life of Charles Cristadoro, an artist whose trail had gone cold since the museum threw open its doors in the ‘60s.
